Picked up this 2003 A2 1.4 (BBY) last week for the equal of GBP 750.
Did not pass the Norwegian MOT, hence the low price:
- Rear springs broken (cheap and easy to replace)
- Left side parking brake does not work (turned out to be the cable that was frozen)
- Exhaust leak (middle silencer was totally rotten, a generic replacement in the exact same size was £20 and took me 10 minutes with the welder to install)
- Headlights yellow and unclear (two hours of wet sanding 400 - 800 - 1200 - 1500 - 2000 and a polisher = like new)

The rusted steel wheels without hubcaps look horrible and the stock alloys for summer wheels are heavily curbed, but that's all fixable.
The interior is almost flawless (but dirty) except the usual wear on the light switch, the paint seems to be quite ok as well for the age.

Full service record from Audi all the way since new, two owners. Not a lot of extras, but it does have a leather steering wheel, climate control, cruise control, Concert radio and a 5-seater. Plan on fixing it up, a inside and outside detailing, adding fog lights to use as DRLs and find some OE wheels in 15" or 16" that will be a good match to the design of the car. Maybe at some point later, a trailer hitch to use my bike rack. :)

Thanks! Had an A2 1.4TDI S-Line almost 10 years ago, so it's not a new type of car for me. :) That one was very nice, but had a bad story of broken dual mass flywheel, broken turbo, broken injectors. Not really a huge diesel fan, so happy with this one that cost 10% of the other one as well.

Welcome aboard, very nice to find an original car with a full history. Super basis for on going pleasure and satisfaction.

Thanks! Been super busy at work lately, so haven't been driving much indeed. Fixed all the MOT issues:
- Rear brakes just needed a cleanup and one new parking brake cable
- Welded in a new front muffler
- Replaced rear springs
- Two days of inside and outside detailing

I need to replace the front brakes, and also have the timing belt on my to-do-list. :) Other than that the car works just fine - I have gotten hold of some parts to freshen up a bit:
- 16" wheels from Audi A1 for summer use
- Fog lights, correct covers, harness etc.
- Headlight switch, new, with fog light option
- New license plate lights
- Jack point covers (3 of 4 were missing)
- Engine undershield (was missing)
- Bluetooth/handsfree interface for the stock radio
- Bose sound system complete (!)
- Trailer hitch with harness

So, I won't be out of work. Just need to have more spare time! :D
