just bought vag tacho 3.01 which ecu?

i have connected it to my win 7 laptop and just want to get the skc code for my key
however it will not find the ecu and i have selected all of them manually
just before i email them have i missed something silly as i dont want to make a fool of myself

I think its vagcom K commander you need to get the SKC code. I was under the assumption vag tacho just does the clocks for setting mileage etc

oh, it wont log into it at all doesnt find the ecu full stop com port is right it finds the lead etc manually did each ecu and nada any ideas?
 
How much did you pay for the kit and where is it from?

There are MANY fakes, copies and non-working versions out there, some of which can leave your car effectively lobotomised!
