Just ordered some Rota Grid wheels but nervous

The analytical part of me says 'be wary' but the man at rimstyle.com was reassuring. They get delivered tomorrow: 17" X 7.5J; ET45! with 5 mm spacers (and that was where he was especially convincing, saying that A2s handle ET40 after spacing - which goes against the definitive wheel guide thread of max EJ37, but hey ho). 205/40 tyres. Any advice? I'm gonna ask a local tyre shop to fit them but fear that there might be rubbing.

To be honest I think that you will be fine. 8j wheels almost clear and I had 8.5 j on mine with a bit of trimming. And yes they were 35 ET but 40 ET is 5mm difference band I doubt that it will cause you any issues.

But best to see how you get on but I wouldn't panic yet, you may well be perfectly ok.

Thanks! Here are some photos. I need to wash my car and sort out a scratch and a dent next. Also, I'm going to Stealth Racing on Monday for a remap and new suspension. Chris.

Not a huge fan of black wheels but they do look great on your car, glad the risk seems to have paid off as I thought it would.

i think I'm going to get black wheels too... when I get my A2...

haven't thought about different rim sizes though... argh...
