I have just had a spot of trouble with my cruise control.I chose to fit LED stop/tail bulbs- looked good and worked well- but shortly afterwards noticed I had a warning light (pre-heater sign)on the dash then realised my cruise control was not working. I did a code check on my Gendan cable and a code no 4236 came up,this number did'nt show on the Gendan book. After various exchanges with Mike we wondered if it could have something to do with the new bulbs, I changed them back this morning and guess what--cruise control works again.

It seemed a good idea at the time!!!!!

cheers,
Malcolm.

Yes, if you're thinking about fitting LED stop/tail bulbs and you have cruise control - don't!

You can get away with it by fitting a dummy load resistor, or even a SPST relay, but it's far from an ideal solution and you're best off sticking with the good old Eddison technology!

I've not come across this 'fault' (unexpected interaction between components would be a better way of putting it) before, so thanks to Malcolm for finding it for me.

Cheers,

Mike
