Leather Interior door handles

I can recall a thread about this but can't find it, I have the black leather interior which I think is excellent until I saw the A2 with red leather interior, including the red leather door handles.

Now whilst I don't want to change the complete interior to red, i would like the door handles in black leather to match my interior. I was curious why mine did not have these fitted, instead I have the plastic stuff that marks badly and seems to have dulled which detracts from the overall great looking interior.

So any thoughts, can I get the handles in black leather, should they have been there from new, any ideas if they are sold separately.

I think the door handles were part of the controls pack option, which co-ordinated the leather colour on the gear knob & gaiter, handbrake grip, steering wheel, trim on the carpets and door handles.
Our A2 was apparently ordered with the controls pack but only arrived with matching door handles and carpet trim. The rest of it we have changed ourselves.
So this doesn't really help you in your quest. I'd suggest VAGparts or your dealer. They should be available.
 
The suggestion that Rob makes is exactly right, although Audi are notoriously bad when it comes to delivering cars with the options as they should be. For instance, I specifically ordered red seating, but insisted that I wanted the rest of the leather bits to be black not red. As it turned out, the wheel, gearstick and handbrake were black, but the doors had red leather!

I also asked for a black headliner, but again, it turned up gray.

The only problem you will have is that the handles themselves are not available separately - you will need to get the entire door card.

Let me know the year of your car and whether you want red or black inserts and I'll get you the part numbers.

thanks chaps, the car is 2002, never changed it as it has only done 25K.
Ballpark what do you think we are looking at for the door cards?
Do you think VAGparts will be able to get them (10% off would be good to have) ?

VagParts can get ANY VW/Audi part, whether it is listed on their site or not.

I really don't have the foggiest as to the price of a door card.

I have emailed Martin at VAGParts w.r.t the aluminum pack a long while ago. That I found out the aluminum strip and the leather trimed arm rest come with the entire door card. I can't remember exactly, but somehow the number £340 came to memory, probably for each side as well.

glock17, great find! That is tempting, except I don't think red goes with my grey interior.

With the A2 being such a relatively rare car, I would have thought there would be a market for a 'just A2 scrapyard' or something like

It is a right-hand drive model I take it?

For black door cards, you'll need 8Z2 867 103B NFF for the passenger door and 8Z2 867 104B nFF for the drivers door.

Give VagParts.com a shout for their price - bound to be cheaper than a dealer.
