Hi to one and all, i just wondered if anyone have come across this problem i have witmy 54 sport TDI, i took my car into the steallers the other day for the MOT, it failed but then it passed, they said side indicators were flashing white, so they changed the bulbs and car passed with flying colours, but a few days later a light bulb symbol appeared on the dash, i have checked all the lights and they all are intact, have booked car in at steallers for them to look at it again, said they wont charge me for the scan and will ring me before any work is carried out, any thought's folks.

The light bulb is as it is you've got a bulb fault so one of your bulbs has blown or gone open curcuit, put all your lights on (ingnition on but don't run engine) and put it reverse and also hazards then have a good luck around the car including the number plate lights, this is definetly a bulb fault, don't think this comes on if its an interior light so it will be an outside light thats gone

Phil

PS welcome to the forum and ownership ;)

Hi Phil just thought i'd let you know i solved the problem of the light bulb showing on the dash, i had the car in at the main dealers but they said after several hours of inspection they could find nothing wrong, half an hour after driving away the dreaded light came on, the dealers did say if the light came on again and i was in the area i should bring it back, anyway i decided to do what you said, i checeked everthing and all seemed fine so i decided to get my daughter to sit in the car, and press the brake pedal and low and behold the brake light did'nt come on drivers side, so went to local car auto shop and bought a bulb for 50p and wala job done, so thank you poniting me in the right direction what would i do without this forum.

Welcome to the A2oc and A2 ownership. That's great you have got it fixed easily and cheaply:)

You would of thought that the bulbs would have been the first thing the dealer checked? But I guess they could not turn that into a big bill.

How many Audi Technicians dose it take to change a light bulb?...........

Cheers

David

Thats shocking that they didn't pick that up as it should have been one of the first things they checked. When you took it back was the bulb light on ? as it could have been a intermitent faulty bulb. But glad we got you sorted and this is what the forums all about helping people out when the dealer can't lol

Well they managed to find them the first time to fail the MOT.

Disgraceful really.

Oh and welcome aboard the good ship.
