Can you advise of any limited editions that have been made
and what the differences are

Limited editions? It's an Audi... not a Citroen/Ford/Peugeot*! [8D]

Seriously, though, I can't recall any A2 limited editions - unless you count the current colour.storm models as limited editions (funky colours, matt black rubbing strips & roof).
You get the occasional (ok, continuous) special offer on equipment levels but that's about it. One could always argue that A2s are sufficiently rare that the whole production run has been a limited edition... [8)]

Reason for the question is, im looking at buying an A2 and
the dealer states they have an Audi A2 TDI Apexi ???? which
they say is a limited edition, just wondered if anyone had
heard of it and could advise what spec it comes with

Well, it's a new one on me: but I daresay someone more knowledgable than me will be along in a minute. How old is it? (and we are talking UK, aren't we?) The only A2 variants in the UK I'm aware of (so not an exhausive list!) are the basic Standard, SE and Sport flavours; plus the colour.storm pack.

Its up as being registered in the UK non import
in Mar 02 in Birmingham area...any clues ???

I'd hazard a guess it may be a dealer limited edition but it won't be an official Audi limited edition. Like Mark says the A2 only comes in basic, SE and Sport flavours in the UK.

The equivalent model designations in Europe seem to be Exclusive (SE) and S line (Sport).

Judging by the social to the Motor Museum, all the A2s were limited editions. I didnt see two the same.

As far as I can tell, Apexi is a company/brand offering all kind of tuning parts. Some are performance related (suspension, intake/exhaust related, dashboard gauges etc), some are optical.
And perhaps they mounted Apex (without the i) springs to that A2. I had an Apex kit (dampers+springs) on a 2002 Clio. They were/are well regarded.
But other than that, I agree with the others. 'Apexi' tells nothing about the official and other spec.

I guess you need to visit that dealer in order to be sure... [8)]

I have an import model brough from Trade Sales in Slough and its actually a limited edition called the XTend from Belgium based on the 1.4 Standard Model Specced to SE Standards with uprated 15" Alloys but no Carpet mats,Parcel Shelf or CD Player but with Climat control, met paint and those all important parking sensors. All for £12k new. Bargain.
