Location for remote control aerial

Hi guys,

I am the owner of an Audi A2 1.4 TDI 75hp from 2004, BHC engine code. Two years ago I retrofited original remote control, at the time I used a wifi antenna as an antenna for the J393 control unit to test. I placed the antenna next to the J393 control unit (in my car it is underfoot on the left side, left hand drive car). Since then this setup has not given me problems and the antenna reception, without being the best, is not bad. However, I would like to mount as close to factory spec as possible. Until now I have not been able to find precise information about the location of this antenna or its reference or references of connectors or supports that it may need. The most I have found is the output for the antenna in the wiring harness schematic. Could someone tell me where and how this antenna is placed in LHD cars?

Th aerial that's mounted on the rear crash bar, as shown in the photo above, runs continuously to the J393 module, with no intermediate connectors. :)

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks for the answers. Would anyone be interested in selling the complete cable with terminals from the J393 control unit, antenna and the rubber boot? Maybe from a car that has a breakdown.
