Hi - need help please - got my car to South Africa and the cooling system for the engine is playing up. It started in the UK and mechanic assured me they checked everything and all looked fine. The coolent is pushing out when hot at the overflow. Replaced the thermostat and seems a little better but the radiator fan still does not come on. We tested the fan and it works but is seems there is no power on the right side of the plug? Is this sensor related or relay? If Relay where is it located and number? Been googling but some reason struggling to find the location of it for my car. Not been able to get the car scanned - mine is the only one in the country now as imported a few weeks back. Thanks in Advance 👍🏻

Also have to add we looked and it does not look head gasket related.

Not a reply to your specific query, but it sounds like you need to acquire your own VCDS setup. VCDS-Lite is quite acceptable, providing you register it.

Agree with @RAB

Bearing in mind your location and lack of spares I would replace both the thermal dual switch and the fan controller after carefully checking that the wiring is intact and the fan does rotate and not seized. Try to apply power direct to the fan to see if it spins up. If it is seized or does not spin under direct power then add that also to your parts list.
