Lock issue

Suspected driver door microswitch issue. Every time I get in the car, put the key in the ignition & turn the key the locks all appear to lock (& unlock) immediately. Sometimes when the door is opened with ignition on the DIS displays door open symbol, other times not. Dodgy microswitch?

From the DIS alone, that's a yes to the dodgy microswitch in the driver's door, but it might not be the only one causing the locks to cycle with the ignition. My Crystal one had both rear doors that wouldn't de-safe which was causing that.

Thanks. So I'm in the market for a microswitch (drivers door at the very least) Where's the best place to pick one up from? Parts guys on here?

It's normally a dry solder joint on the microswitch, but that's not the only possibility. If you fancy stripping down the door yourself then a new lock mech from @A2Steve, @Clackers or @Ami is what you want to cover all eventualities. Alternatively if you can get yourself up to @timmus in Lancaster not too far away, he's repaired more of these than I've had hot dinners, he's familiar with every failure mode and normally carries spares for when a repair isn't possible. He'll also be able to sort out any of the other locks that are playing up for any reason, and scan and advise on the rest of the car's electrics. You won't regret dropping him a PM to arrange 👍 .

I have the same exact symptom but the problem is the rear left door (during my first repair I have replaced also locking mechanism although the problem was the locking module in the rear doors). I can hear them doing some wierd clicking when locking/unlocking and also VCDS has confirmed that. I will replace the locking mechanism with the original one and later on try to repair the broken one just to have it for spare.
