Long time owner from overseas

Hi

i am a long time A2 owner.

Mine is a 2001 1.4 TDI pack. i own it (or her as you like) since 2005.
I had all the usual issues (silent block, drop link, loss of power and so on). It has now 82 thousands miles on the clock.....

this car is great and i am still happy with. I bought it for my wife, who drove 5 years the car, and after i "gave" it to my mother in law ( i am too nice) and keep using it the week end. Now i took back the car to clean and fix everything in the aim to give it to my sun as a first car.

i am sorry i cannot put any picture yet , the car looks like a bin (thank you mother in law....)

I would like here to the thank all the contributors of this forum. i have learned more here in one month than in 10 years owning the car.

Excuse my poor english, i m living overseas as my nickname tells you (sorry for that).

salut.

Bonsoir. Your English is fantastic compared to my schoolboy French. That's a great story about family ownership of an A2 and it's great to have positive feedback about this website. Hope you enjoy fixing the wee car to your satisfaction for the weekends.

I,m not sure how "wee" translates into French Murdo, LOL - "petite"?. Welcome Le Frog and "Hello, hello". :)

Agreed. When we took our daughter to Euro Disney and drove a good few hundred kilometres around the region I was keeping my eyes peeled but didn't see a single one. A prolifiration of Peugeot and Citroën as would be expected (and tractors!) but no A2's. Mind you - I set the GPS to avoid motorways where possible so we were treated to some beautiful countryside.

Cheated,
Flew to toulouse and picked up rental car at airport, yes scenery fantastic in the tarn garone also.

WP_20150709_003-2.jpgWP_20150709_003-2.jpgthe A2 was not a success in terms of Sales in France, I think like in all the European countries. Too expensive...
you can meet few of them in France in the town centers, it is really a "city car" and it is seen as very expensive in maintenance. We here all know it is not true.

i washed my car, I can show pictures, it is a Silver grey.WP_20150709_002.jpg
