I have a minor/major problem with our A2, on the trip to work this morning I had what can only be described as "loss of power". I was doing 40 and changing from 3rd to 4th (oh I am on a Ringroad) and as I put lift the clutch and press the gas - NOTHING!!! well the revs went up but that was all, I tried another gear 5th and still nothing - CONFUESED!!, stopped and tried to select any gear still won't go, so called Audi Roadside for help they were with me in about an hour and after I explained the situation he had a look and selected a gear and lifted off the clutch and nothing, no drive no knocking no nothing.:(

Its know with the local dealer to see if they can fix it (fingers crossed).

I am very impressed by this service, polite, helpfull etc they even sorted out a hire car.

I will let you know as to the out-come hope its not bad - miss her already!![29]

Well its been nearly a week and she's just gone on the ramp, things aren't looking good they think I might get her back by the end of this week but we all know that this could be the week after.

Still have the hire car, glad Iam not payng for it. (206sw 1.4s) but it does get me from a-b so shouldn't be to harsh.

As before I will let you know as to the outcome..

Maybe you blew up the turbo. Sounds like what I experienced when I blew mine.

Is it the driveshaft issue? Was your A2 one of the earlier, affected builds?

Or has the laccy band just broken?

It sounds to me as if the "Luftmassenmesser" (should translate to something like "air mass measurer" in English, I don´t know the exact word) is broken. It is a part that is sometimes covered under warranty, because it breaks often in VAG cars..

Bye, Frido.

Yet another Update.

Called the dealership today and still not fixed going to be another week.

I have had enough of the dealer fobbing me off so a wrote a letter to Audi Customer Services. feel a little better now..

It should not take 3 weeks to replace a gearbox, even if its under warenty.

Have they confidently diagnosed the problem or are they just replacing bits untill they come across the problem.

Good luck, all the best, chin up, god bless and all who sail in her, rabbits foot, horse shoe, see a pin and pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck (or a pin poking you in the pocket-never could work out that one).......

If you have a more positive response than Audi UK ever gave I will never speak to you again. So no danger there!

*** ITS FIXED ***

Got her back last night and its great, all clean and shiny with a long list of new parts, the big-ones were new gearbox, new clutch and because the front pads where low they changed them as well all for free (well warrenty) but I didn't have to spend a penny, which is a good thing as the bill would have been £2500.

Gearbox is nice and tight but does seem to have a short shift, not that its a bad thing, just different.

When my box was changed (at 2k)the shift was MUCH improved upon its return.
Dealer booked it in on thursday and I collected it saturday.
Yes it was the same week.

Soon to be ex-A2 owner - but nevertheless extremely satisfied with my experience

I feel a fight coming on.......

** ITS FIXED AGAIN **

Got her back again, all clean and shiny no sign of grease.

So its everything crossed for a few weeks, don't think they will be to happy to see me too soon.

Fight postponed - service manager very helpful and got his hands dirty, think someone else got the beating......
