Has anyone had any experience of lowering an A2? I am not sure if the GMBH springs that come on the sport are any lower than the normal ones. If not can any one recommend a spring/

Regards Jon

Hi Jon,
The GmbH suspension is lower than the normal spec (can't remember how much off-hand)
Eibach springs have got a good reputation, have you looked into those? Very popular on the VW/Audi tuning scene.

Oh no....what are you up to?

Well i`ve had it tinted, and the audi kit is going on next weekend. Not sure whether to lower it on the alloys or change the wheels to a bigger size but obviously the lowering is much easier on the wallet. Probably won`t do anything to suspension and wheels this side of christmas but the ideas are slowly gathering momentum in my mind.

Eibach are the only company in the world to buy springs off ... they are on all Ferrari's, most Formula One cars, all Rally Cars, most Touring Cars etc etc...

Increasing the diameter of your wheels wouldn't normally alter the ride height of the car as you would, normally, fit lower profile tyres aswell to balance the circumference ie.so that your trip computer/speedo still reads accurately.

Note that I like harsh suspension, but I wouldn't fancy anything much harder than my standard TDi Sport on 17" rims (hence low profile ie.stiff sidewalled) tyres.

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread but I would like to lower my front and stiffen up the springs all round but not too sure where to go for decent advice.

My car is on sports suspension already with 215/40/17's but way to soft for my liking.

Reason for the front lowering is the back already has an extra 110kg in it that makes it pretty low now.

Cheers in advance.

Ricardo thanks for the advice, i have used eibach springs in the past, I understand what you are saying about a decreased profile on a lrger wheel to maintain the overall rolling radius but i was only going to lower it for visual effect or change the wheels to 18"`s because !9"`s won`t go on sensibly.

But i have now picked it up with the kit and i feel that different wheels will be to much, having said that the kit sits about 10mm lower to the road than the orginal skirts & valances and gives the car in my opinon the right visual stance.
