Haven't got a recommendation for a mapper sorry, but just wanted to say what a beautiful example.

Can't help on the re-map but just to say looks like you have a nice one there. Love the colour combination!

Hmm. Have you tried tsr in Bridgewater? They are a revo dealer. I haven't used them except for pressed metal number plates. Worth a phone call if close.
Steve
P. S.
Like the car

Yes I know of them but lots of mixed reviews he is well known from years ago for golf gti tuning ..I was hoping that someone had a great experience with their Audi a2 diesel re map in the south west ...if i can’t find a gem of a co might have to be long trip up to stealth ..

I think it's fair to say that TSR is not what it was back in the heydays of Mk1/ Mk2 GTi tuning days when it was actually TIM STYLES Racing, after Tim left the passion and customer care seemed to go downhill rapidly. Sure, they know their stuff, but I wouldn't trust my car there like I would trust it at Stealth. Vince is a great guy, and is passionate about the cars, and knows how to keep his customers.

Your right Tim didn’t live far from me ..he had a great reputation as you say ..as did Arne Levics over at street he was superb with the air cooled vw it seems like unless someone comes forward with an alternative it’s stealth I’ve just e mailed them for price and how long it will take as it’s 157 miles away ..thanks Paul

Mlods - can we get some clarification on what we're allowed to talk about re: remaps as its obvious there is confusion and a want to discuss?

I went to see Tim himself, must have been 1991/2 when I owned a Mk1 golf Gti. He did a rolling road tune for me and we had a good chat about everything VW. I was 19 years old then and Tim was relatively old (compared to me) so he must be getting on a bit now. I also saw him on the Gti International circuit and a few other shows. I didn't know TSR even existed still.

Yeah, I had similar dealings with Brian Ricketts (BR Motorsport/GTi Engineering) - great bloke who really knew his stuff. He used to service my Scirocco religiously amongst all the Ur-Quattros. When his failed health meant the closure of BRM, that's when I got to know Vince at Stealth.

Sorry relatively new on here in layman’s terms what are you saying ????
No worries I put a LInk I put in your other thread - I'm not disagreeing with your ask and indeed I benefitted from advice on this in the past on this topic but the moderators have made a decision.

Ruling explicitally forbids recommendation or advertising of remap services

Having driven a 75bhp atl engine with a stealth remap it's on my wish list. £250 and a day in sunny warwickshire. Gotta plan it soon

Isn't that a ruling on members offering a remap. Surely advice on remaps being offered by reputable businesses is ok? Or have we gone politically correct like man size tissues??

Lovely car. I still remember when it popped on Autotrader last year or so for around £5K. Rang the dealer and she was gone in few days....

Your right the dealer in Bristol whom I bought it off said he had never had so many phone calls on any car..i bought it 3 hours after he listed it ..I fitted new cam belt and water pump ..but it been garaged all it’s life ..I was going to leave it in store ..but sally said what are you saving it for let’s use it so we use the old a2 if we are banging up mileage or putting a load of rubbish in the back ..and nice trips in the new one ..to be honest I h@ve a few cars but truly love these ...still futuristic little gems ?..Paul

I’m truly sorry if I’ve offended anyone on asking about the remaping I didn’t know the rules ..now I know ..Paul

There is no rule against recommending professional businesses that carry out commercial remapping services if members are satisfied with the service and product.

We recieved information about cars allegedly damaged by remap/s being circulated within the A2OC community and further allegation that a remap flashed onto a cars ECU was plagiurised from a bespoke product owned by a commercial mapping provider .

We have no direct evidence to support these allegations however to protect the community and without prejudice we will not support advertising or endorsement of remaps being shared or traded between individual members within the club.

Hope that clarifies- and to the OP - perfectly legitimate question and I'm sure no offence is caused .
