HI all,
just to keep you all informed, the price of LPG has now gone up to 0.74 pence!! per litre,i was paying 63.9 pence! bloody daylight robbery i say!!! mind you i'm still getting around 220 miles on 26.4 litres (LPG) which is'nt to bad, costing me £19.54 approx every 1.1/2 weeks now, as the saying goes ' musn't grumble' springs to mind.
On a more serious side my car is runnng perfectly (after first 1/2 minute or so)re cold weather. and you can't tell any difference at all with performance or comfort, as you all know i'm related to Victor Meldrew (MK2)version, am i a HAPPY BUNNY @ present?? i would say slightly so,
Cheers ALAN, Happy days to one and ALL.

Yes would be interesting to see where the tank is, I would think it must be a 1.6 petrol.

hi guys as Alan isnt on at the mo i will answer your ? its a 1.4 petrol, the 1.6 fsi cant be lpg converted due to the high pressure direct injection.
Alan --- wow thats some price increase ! dick turpin is back for us all!

Lpg conversion/information.

Hi technics100,CD17, as you already now know ( by Mike Sumo, thanks mike) my car is 2001 1.4 petrol
i had the conversion done approx 1 year ago, it runs on both fuels seperatly, just by one press of a button for either fuel, re the LPG tank, mine is in the 2nd floor down, it is like a large metal doughnut to the right of floor, tank size is around 34 litres but can only be filled max of 26.4 litres, this allows room for expansion inside said tank, the down side to all of this
is runflat 'spare wheel' has to be moved to upper boot floor, yet there is still ample room for everyday things like shopping etc, the filler nozel is housed in right corner of rear bumper.
I am very happy with all of this plus i can now travel a distance of 460 miles using both tanks (LPG & PRTROL)before requiring a fill-up. At present i'm running on LPG most of the time making great savings against current petrol prices eg; Shell V Power 'locally' is at the
price of £1-36 per litre (wow!) just to clear things up, the LPG price is £0-74 pence per litre
again i'm making great savings as is clear to see, re 'pictures' of conversion etc, it's far to complicated for me so you would have to come on one of our A2OC socials to view and have a drive/ view etc, hope this is of some use to all interested,
Thanks ALAN.

its just the fuel duty thats made the LPG go up.
I expect it to go up more in about 6 months, thats due to the rising cost of LPG
Gains were far better years ago when the government at the time, halfed the duty on LPG so it would spead quicker.

I would still be interested in seeing pics, my brother has his 1.8T Seat Toledo running on gas and putting out 223bhp, he has never had any real problems over 40k + rising..

Its good stuff..
