Would it be possible for the moderators to display that status next to their username?

Over time you build up a repor with certain members and it would be nice to know who you can go to with any issues or if you are seeking guidance.

Hi Steve,

I asked the team about this last week and so those moderators that wanted the "Moderator" status to be displayed will have it added. (mine has been added now).

I will just have another check to see if any of the other moderators want it added.

Hi Steve,

This has recently been discussed amongst the team. There are mixed views about displaying the status - some wanting not to display it to remain less authoritarian; in keeping with the friendly ethos of the club.

As you are aware, there has been a recruitment for the treasurer and web hosting support roles, once finalised there will be a thread identifying who's who. In addition, it is hoped that this information can be provided to new members as part of the registration process.

Cheers for the thread and voice.

If i was required to display that I'm a moderator I would resign as a moderator. Hopefully you know that I am such a beastie without a title ? I'd hope actions speak louder than words or titles.

I think the mod-light approach works brilliantly and the current active moderators do a great job.

Although I don't think mods should get special treatment, I do think it deserves a certain level of respect. A couple of months ago I questioned a post of Matt's about marketplace rules not knowing he was a mod. I don't think I caused offence but had the status been displayed I wouldn't have done so.

I just think it would be useful, but if it causes problems then perhaps it's best to leave be.
