Multi-Function Steering wheel

Hi All,

When you spec up a new A2 you get the option of a "4- spoke leather multi- function type steering wheel" which would of been very nice,
the problem is my A2 is an ex-demo so I didn't get then option,
Has anyone ever purchased one (and had fitted)? I have a Concert single CD jobby stero.

The one I'm referring to is described on the Audi website as :-
4- spoke leather multi- function type
Including leather gear knob, gaiter and handbrake grip. Multi-function leather steering wheel with full-size airbag, in 4-spoke design. Integral controls for the Audi audio system (not Chorus),
manually adjustable for height and depth. Colour complements the interior trim, available at the bargain price of £330.

I'm not worried about all the leather bits n bobs, I've already got those, I just to be able to turn the stero up and down on the steering wheel.

Any comments, appreciated.

We have the multi function wheel in our car - but I'm not sure if you can have one fitted to an existing car as it appears to fairly complicated.....

Originally we ordered the car with the M/F wheel but not the DIS, the order went off to the factory in June, and we were called to say that the spec was incompatible, and that if we wanted the M/F wheel we would need to order the DIS as well. In the end we went for the DIS which I love, well worth the money.

The M/F wheel is pretty good, you can control all the functions major of the Symphony, including switching CDs, fast forwarding and rewinding tapes and even turning tapes over.

..but the best thing about it is that the six buttons on the steering wheel all light up red when you switch the lights on, and even dim when you turn the dash down - v. cool if a little off putting at first.

The short answer is no, or so i was told by my dealer.

1.4SE petrol 2001, Dark interior, Sat cloth, Brilliant Silver, 3 spoke Steering wheel, Rear electric windows and Panasonic MR555 stereo, Panasonic 8CD changer, 10 speakers (2 extra 13" 190 watt each.)

I bet the only way a multi function steering wheel can be retro fitted, is if its located on the passenger side.

From my Audi UK findings I agree with “Factor” that DIS cannot be retro fitted.
