Recognised the Syncro straight way, think i was early 20s at the they came out? I always loved the Gyrodeck too but alas money was tight 28 or so years ago. A Rega 2 was my flavour being so young Lol. I now own a Pink Triangle Export with A Rega 303 arm and Dynavector 20x2 cartridge, all Audiofile bargains that punch way above their weight. Mind you at £700 for the cartridge it's not what you call cheap. Theres not much difference between the PT Export i have and the Anniversary but kind of hank after one or mod mine to anniversary spec with a SME series 5 arm but were talking £4k just for the arm.Need to get the car expenses out the way first. The Anniversary is as the HiFi critics said back in 1990/91 the closest thing they had heard to master tape.
I'M ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHED AT YOUR AMPS. At first i thought they were floor standing transducers but thought what name is that?? Then the penny dropped.
I can only think they must be world class and hugely expensive to build. If made and retailed today something like £15 - 20K wouldn't be untoward possibly more. I do like tubed amps but as you know decent ones are lots of pennies. Tim Pavoracini of EAR springs to mind for his tube amps. I do remember the Ruark Sabres well a friend had a pair and so did my brother. I currently own a pair of Monitor Audio Studio 50's which are superb from the late nineties which won't be going anywhere with nice sensitivity at 90db which i'd bet my house on would sound world class with your amps?
I did manage to purchase a new set of Monitor Audi Studio 15's demmed on Krell pre / power you mentioned, i got a good deal on in 1994 paying quite a bit less that the £1700 rrp speakers which back then was a hell of lot for a stand mount. I made my own stands for them that weighed at least 50k each. Still miss them babies in very rare black piano finish, even though not as good as the 50's, sold them to a guy in Germany on ebay for £1500 3 years ago, snapped up within a couple days as they're so so rare. Have you ever demmed other speakers? What mods have you done to yours? I'm thinking crossover mods and internal wiring? Love your Stands and equipment support table, looks as good as the best I've seen. I still have cd but bought the PT stuff 4 years ago because i just missed playing vinyl so much and as you might know there are some superb pressings around. Are you saying your friend who built your amps thinks the Krell is better or vice versa? I've herd Krell but for me just a bit too clinical.
