My (2nd) A2 Project

Hi John

You're really working hard at this. I'm sure it's going to be a stunner when you finished, especially with that dayglo orange ;)

Look like you're doing this outdoors and in Lincolnshire, not the warmest of places even in this mild winter; you must hardy!

Guards Red and Brilliant Black are my two favourite colours for cars. I'm sure this will look fantastic! :)

Regards,

Matt.

Hi Guys, Yeah Matts right, Porsche Guards Red, but it does look orange in the camera flash. Although even in sunlight its an effing bright red!! Won't loose it in a car park! Yeah its cold in Lincolnshire. Won't be painting it until the weathers warmed up a bit. Got to be sanded yet anyway.......which will take a while!

Say hi to all your family Matt.

Hi John

Any news on this project? I often think about it because of the scale of the conversion.

Hi Steve, To be honest, not a lot has changed at the moment. Been busy doing other bits & pieces. Hopefully getting back round to doing it soon. I've started refurbishing the wheels. Next is to cut the windows out & start sanding it (that's the exciting bit!) I'll update when I get more bits done, although I havn't got a time limit so it'll be as & when.
Cheers. John.

Hi Guys, Have managed to get a few more bits done on the project, all the windows are cut out & have started sanding.

Sorry John, I must have missed your response first time around. Looks like your moving along nicely.

What modifications do you have planned for the car i.e is it going to be an all out show car or just a very well finished OEM looking A2?

And how on earth are you keeping track of all the parts for the rebuild lol?

Guess who! Last post of the day! I know you all enjoy photo's! These are how it currently looks. Hopefully will get round to polishing it before the weekend. In the first picture, the camera flash makes it look orange. The pics outside show more of the actual colour.......but yes, it is a very bright red! :D

Hi Steve, Not planning to be a show car, just having 'fun' & having something slightly different! Won't be OEM either, probably something in between. All the parts for the re-build are easy, I'm currently driving round in these (its the black 1.4 diesel I'm currently using). The painted shell was an FSi that's now gonna return as a diesel, if this makes sense. The 'garage' is basically an oversized shed I built at the bottom of the garden. Needs a really good clean out ideally, but as a 2nd home it keeps me out of trouble! :D

Hi Gary, Thanks for your comments. Its coming along, in no rush to get it done. Have been following your project, looks like you've got your hands full! Should be great when done. Cheers. John.

Just an update. These pics should've been posted a while ago. At the minute the projects on hold (looking at selling our house and moving to pastures new). So have done alot of decoration work around the house and not had time to do any more on the project.

Votex rear spoiler fitted. Rear skirt is just temporary with a couple of screws. Obviously havn't fitted the rest of the kit yet, as no engine in the car.
Cheers.

The black one in the pics (the diesel donor for the project), has just been sitting in the garden since the M.o.T ran out in November. So due to project on hold for the time being, stuck it in for an M.o.T & it passed with no problems, so to celebrate this decided to tidy it up a bit.
May not be to everyones taste, but it was just a quick thing to tidy it over, & look a bit more presentable.
Reckon its not bad for a couple of days work, & a total cost of under £70.

Its only quickly done with spray cans, little bit patchy in places, but it doesn't look too bad, & its easier to keep clean than black. Its metallic, matt grey finish.
Cheers.
