My A2 Doors being done - free £40K 09 plate loan car for a week so far

Well I popped into my Audi dealership with my 8 year old A2 to show them a couple of 6mm long 0.5mm wide minor cracks above the front door hinges and hey presto - they said bring it in for new hinges!

It's not been serviced by Audi for last 4 years but still seems to be covered for 'internal corroson' for 12 years.

They've leant me a high spec 2009 A4 with Sat Nav, 8 speed Auto, 2.7 TDI on unlimited mileage and now after a week I've run out of friends to go and visit, it had 3,000 miles when I started - daren't look now ! Top marks to Spike for clarifying this and Audi for sticking to the Warrenty.

Any thoughts on how long this door job will take i was the first for my dealership ?

How far apart do these friends live then? Where do you live? why don't you pop over with the new wheels and see me in London, we'll check it out :)
It was Spike AND Mike that dealt with hinge issue.

Expect a phone call from the stealership for thier car back tomorrow ...LOL :D

Well done on having the A4 that length of time! My A2 was in the bodyshop for 3 days when the hinges were done. I think the tech that did the job had read up on the repair instructions before starting the job though! Either way, result for you. Enjoy the A4 while you have it and I hope the A2 Job is tip top.
 
Its 9 days now.... thing is the MPG is @ 40 on the direct injection 2.7 TDI wheras the A2 1.4 TDI is 70+ !! Don't ever waste money on an inbuilt satnav - its useless compared to tomtom, for an 09 plate car it doesen't even do full postcode search.
 
Mines getting the hinges done on Thursday - dealer seems to think it won't take more than a day - are they missing something?

Yes Brains ..lol so far all have said it normally takes about a week, (one of our members is on his 9th day I think with his new A4 courtesy car) I would think that once they start to look at the job then they will see the extent of the work required.

Maybe you need to call them to arrange a car as you've probably not planned to be without it for about a week, and it will probably disrupt your plans being without your little pride and joy.

It just depends on who's doing the job mine took a week but the dealer didn't get all the bits plus they had to paint the outside of the door and wing, due to them taking nearly a year to sort, 1 to 3 days should be about right

Well mines in for free MOT (which it passed) and the door hinge work.. luckily they've realised they need it for a day or two - which means I get to keep the 09 A4 cabriolet with leather for a while ;) :p

Well done you beat me with a cabriolet !! I've now had my loan A4 for 12 days so looking to hit the 2 week milestone - i got worried that they may have been trying to get me as loan agreement paperword said just 3 days - so I called them which may have prompted them and said ready in 2 days. This warrenty work is unlimited mileage whereas servicing is 100 miles a day max !!

Well, hats off to Listers Audi in Worcester - I have my A2 back after 1.5 days, and they've done an excellent job. I even managed to find a gap in the rain to drive the cabrio with the roof down!
 
Is the door repair deal Audi EU wide Warranty fix or just UK official imported cars?

Mine was bought from Audi Dealer in Germany in 2002.
