My A2 Project - 'The Pocket Rocket!'

Steve I used some Matt Black plastic spray paint, it's soft touch but hard wearing compared to the Audi Stuff takes 24 hours to dry though and waiting for my chrome bezel should be here tomorrow with any luck.

What brand, bought where? I need some.

Thanks Andy

Thanks for the info on the paint
I followed the steps described by various forum members, so thanks to them. Use of a "proper" Drexel is essential. I used a pseudo-Dremel the first time, but then borrowed the real McCoy for this one
I've yet to actually fit it to the car, so let's see what that looks like.

I used a hot glue gun - it gives some stiffness and feels nice and strong. Best thing for me was I could 'tack' it with a few blobs, test the fit and then peel the glue and try again. Once I had it centred I poured in a couple of sticks worth to give it a lot of strength again.
If I did it again I'd add the extra glue in layers. The whole mass of glue softened my 'tack' glue and the centre moved a little from where I had stuck it. Not much but a little.

Glue gun sounds better than superglue!
Thanks for the tip.
If I get time, I'll try installation at the weekend, though my false floor retrofit is long overdue!

Another option might be black or translucent sealant; forgiving if it goes wrong, easy to wipe off the excess with water and should hold good and tight. Just a thought.

Chrome ring arrived today, I have used the two part epoxy to glue this into place, this is super strong although takes a few hours to properly cure, hopefully will be ready to be fitted later on tonight.

Looks good. Looking forward to seeing it in-situ!
On an unrelated matter, I like the look of the vintage radio or whatever your switch is sitting on! My wife would very much like to "up-cycle" that!

Fitted my switch into "The Pocket Rocket" this morning, I must have glued the switch barrel in slightly on the squint as the fit was tight, however it means I don't need a solution to fix it in place.
