My black Audi A2 1.4 SE (Project noir)

Got some new plans for the Project car after spending a bit of free time today looking at whats possible.

I've done quite a bit of the important work to it. Vents, brakes, MOT fails and important stuff and also replaced SE wheel for a nice sports wheel. But still have to fit the stereo and sub.

I'm now interested in adding to the list
- Rear Power socket (really want one of these)
- storage area under handbrake
- headlight washers (I like the idea of them if they are not too much bother)
- replace all coilpacks
- replace SE seats for Sports seats and wire in lumbar support electrics (Recondition as best can if required)
- replace SE gear nob for good condition Sports knob
- tart up caliper colour and drums
- roof rack to be purchased (For when i move to spain next year)
- fit a K&N air filter in place of standard one
- re-paint spoiler to Dakota grey to match wheels

Things i need to investigate costs and effort:
- Coming home lights/Auto on lights
- Auto dimming review mirror
- finding out if there is a Sports version of the handbrake of if they are the same...

that's it for the moment. any of the other mods seem to be too expensive or a lot of effort.

Headlight washers are a chnage of bumper and washer bottle only. It's water powered rather than an electric motor.

@BoxyA2 has a set of sports seats for sale that I sold to him previously. They are in good nick.

Auto headlights is a nice easy modification with just a bit of cutting of the surround required.

All handbrake grips on both SE and Sport models are teh same.

Thanks! I think I will give the headlight washers a miss then. @Bargepower has some seats he said i'm welcome to so I'm hopfully going to have a ganders at, but will check out the ones you mentioned.

Auto Headlights is something i might have a crack at then as i know there is lots of information on this mod on this forum already.

Thanks for the advice!

Are you going double Din with the Alpine unit?

No I’m not. The alpine unit is single height so am going to just get it installed and working.

I would have loved to have the money to get the OEM double din RNSE unit.

Look out for my posts in the coming days regarding retro fitting the Mk5 golf self dimming rear view mirror
I did mine a few days ago and love it

At last!! Project Noir has sound!!! And very good sound too!!! Alpine head unit just needed a bit of tweaking. A signal booster for the aerial and the sub tweaked and now its pumping. Plus the guy installed the microphone for the Bluetooth phone connection. Very cool! And it was £80 well spent!
Finsbury car audio on blackstock road. Can’t recommend them enough. The guys been in business 30 years and you can see why! Really nice family run business and just round the corner to me.

A long day yesterday but very much worth it. Changed over the sports seat bases from driver and passenger sides which was pretty straight forward and only a few torx screws.

Didn’t manage to get power to it so will get that done. Fitted the new pressed alloy number plates off eBay. £14.95!!
Fitted the chrome door handle covers. Replaced the coil packs. One was faulty so did a scan to see which one it was and put a decent old one back on.

Also did a bit of b*****dising to the center console storage unit as I didn’t have the right base for it to clip in to so modified it to made it work.

New side repeaters coming along with mud flaps and that’s pretty much it after a wash and polish.

Wash and wax day! Cleaned out and given a bit of love. I love this little car and what I’m learning through doing this project. Can’t wait till she’s finished so I can take some shots of her.

Nice beastie! Just out of interest, what did you do with the alloys you removed from it? I could do with a new set as the original 15” on mine are badly corroded and look awful.

I’ve still got them. They are at my parents house. I was going to refurb them as they need a good clean and a bit of TLC. 2 of the tyres certainly need replacing. I do t have any pictures but could get some.
