My first A2

Ok. I have searched about fixing the oil fill pipe as it is leaking. I have removed the hex screw under it but the hose will not budge out of the block. Have I missed something?

Hi ,
I can’t see from your photograph which pipe /area you’re talking about but on my AMF the pipe has a push fit connection similar to a plumbing fitting to release this I put a small adjustable spanner on the alloy section of the pipe & gently pressed towards the block whilst pulling the pipe away if I recollect correctly .

Audi A2 1.4 Oil Filler Pipe 8Z0115302H Brand New Genuine

Item 10 right hand end in diagram.
Cheers

Thanks Keith.
I pulled really hard and it came off. Not from the block but from the spigot.

There are two small holes you can see.

Just changed my fuel filter. It was very black and appeared to be contaminated with oil. I've seen this before. New tandem pump required?
Also, started to remove bits to get to the turbo. What a PITA! I already have a few hand injuries! The egr is full of crud!

Rear axle is off.

How do I check the bushes? There is some movement on one side.
Perhaps best just to change them now I am this far?
Rear shocks completely dead. Nil rebound.
Brake lines corroded.
Bottom spring cups both broken up.
It is turning into a bigger job!

You are really getting stuck into this one. With an aluminium shell and an engine that will go on forever it’s worth putting this effort in.

Anyone recommend replacement axle beam bushes that don't cost a kidney?
I spent the afternoon with the wire wheel cleaning the axle up. It's actually very good with minimal rust. However, I did find one small hole which I will need to get the mig out for.
I would normally take such items for sandblasting but they are so busy right now, turn around is over two weeks.
I have some really good two pack epoxy to use when its spotless.

I can't recommend them specially for this task but.i have used febi ones on a budget before and they lasted fine for the 2 years or so after I did the job. They were half the price of lemforder and was on a vw passat. An unqualified statement would be that this is. A much lighter car so less. Stress on the bushes, would assume something like febi would be adequate.

I've never had a problem with the m for rubber/tpu based type of products. I often use them for hoses etc that type of thing. I just prefer other brands when it comes to mechanical parts.
