Hello,
my A2 is missing a vital extra, yes a double din dash,
so today started to remove from a donor car, and get it ready to do the swap,
Took around 2 hours....see pics....

















As always refitting is more time consuming than removal:)

Dan has been through the pain of this conversion, it is not an easy one but you seem to have made a fair start.

:eek: I wouldnt mind Bose, but looking at that, I think Ill pass. I'll just have to make sure the next A2 has it

That conversion is not because of BOSE, BOSE fits single or double DIN.

This conversion is only an advantage if you want a double DIN Radio (or better still an RNS E !!!) and BOSE can be fitted to a single DIN radio just as easily (or as difficultly) as a double DIN radio. It is not affected by the dash.

Might have mine available once I complete my dash install.
Its a original A2 single cd player.

Swapping the entire dash out for the double-DIN conversion is far far far far far preferable to the route I took!
Enjoy the upgrade Taz - are you going to go for an RNS-E head unit?
