The O/H wants her TT alloys back on her TT if that's not clear in my post! lol
Although the 195/50/16 tyres do bulge a bit in the standard alloys which will probably make the ride a tad smoother compared to the 205/40/17s that are on my little beastie at the mo.
Finally got the SE wheels back on little Akoya now they're fully coated in Gtechniq C5 and wrapped with Yokohama winter tyres.
Always satisfying to see nice shiny wheels all the way through!
(Even if the rest of the car is filthy!)
And finally got my old private registration on - did it when renewing the insurance so no extra fee
Some pressed aluminium ones seemed appropriate for the little aluminium box!
2 of the centre caps on the nearside are still letting the side down a bit - anyone got any half decent ones or even a full shoddy set I could refurb?
Just chugged by 108k and still going like a trooper - how can a car be so reliable??!?
Tanklet had a service last week - oil & Filter as usual, and as a special treat got a new fuel and air filter too.
So in the 25 months I've had the little aluminium beastie, I've now gone over 40,000 miles traveled. 60.6mpg isn't to be sniffed at for an average and cost me no more than a couple of hundred quid in minimal servicing and MOTs.
All I seem to post about is changing wheels, but as nothing is going wrong or getting modified, that's the only changes!
Had the 17s freshly stripped and powdercoated as well as a pair of new rainsport 3. Took them into the back bedroom and applied Gtechniq C1 to them and let it cure for a few days before fitting. Makes cleaning a doddle and protects them nicely.
Got some new centre caps to finish off the "as new" look too The wheels are clean, the car is filthy!

The winters are off, cleaned and still look new (that'll be the Gtechniq C1 giving awesome protection again) There's still at least another 2 winters left in them as the tread depth is still 7 or 8mm.
EDIT - Just realised that the ebay listing quotes: "Condition: Brand New Genuine Audi Part" - now I did notice the back of them does have an Audi stamp part number etc but assumed that was just part of the copy.. maybe they're genuine? I dunno.. (or care lol)
Now done over 50,000 miles in the tin can and still at 60.6mpg
Had a quick little tot-up of how much it's cost me in maintenance in my ownership and it's about £450 what with services, MOTs and new brakes front and back so £90 per 10,000 miles or thereabouts. Not bad.
Tax is £30 p.a. and insurance is a couple of hundred.
I was recently thinking of getting something else to commute but have realised there's absolutely zero point. This little aluminium marvel just keeps on jugging away..
