My new Ebony Black 1.6 FSI Sport

How much were the undertray and fixings?

Hi mate I think they were just over £100 all in from Audi, I have the receipt somewhere so can check.

Still need to fit it, but due an oil service so will stick it on after that.

That's a good price for the undertray and fixings, I got bored of waiting for one at the right and bought new.

Today stuck a new Bosch wiper on and can see clearly now, went for the 30" one this time round.

Updated rolling shot I took today, really pleased with the look of the later grill and fogs

Well nothing to see here, but I have had a good day and completed and oil service with genuine parts and I notice that the OE oil filter looked different to the aftermarket one fitted?

Also fitted a new oil level sensor, again easy enough to change over.

But the best bit was I finally fitted by brand new undertray which I have had for 10 months, my car has never had one easy enough to fit and quite s things down no end, so all in all a good morning

Well got her through another MOT.....

Snapped offside front coil spring, no difference in height had only snap the lower end off, so new one fitted.

Anti roll bar link worn rubber boot, so new fitted.

Handbrake cable on offside given up the ghost so new one fitted.

But other than that all good, although I still have the dreaded inlet flaps not reached limit.......

Gave her a good bath for MOT as I think it all helps so here is to another 12 months

Finally got myself VCDS so I am hoping at getting that blinking hesitation sorted once and for all

How does the hesitation manifest itself?

Sorry only just spotted this, it's the 17439 manifold set point not reached.

My actuator moves freely enough by hand but I have never seen it move when the car is revved.

With research I am hoping it all points towards the G316 sensor which controls the actuator.

I have a new one coming from Audi on Monday for just over £80 so let's see

Update

I think I may have fixed the hesitation once and for all, well at least it was good as gold for the 12 mile test drive.

Fitted the new N316 valve reset the codes

I can now see the actuator arm move when revving the car stationary, this has never moved before in two years of ownership

No hesitation when pulling away, pulls like a mini train and MPG has gone from 32 average to 49 on the 12 mile test drive.

I have to say having VCDS has helped find the problem but also trawling old posts on here, with a big thanks to Spike for this post from 2008

Only thing the price of the solenoid valve has risen to £70

I will update in a week or so as to how we are getting on

Do you mean the Intake manifold flap air flow control valve N316?

If the valve fails (Identified as faulty), the engine will only be allowed to operate in homogeneous charge mode. The homogeneous charge mode is normally active when the engine is running at high revs and high load.

Oh yes sorry N316 valve

I will edit above to make more sense

That also explains the poor running one minute and fine the next, figures crossed I have sorted it now

Hi

Well done on sorting one variant of the dreaded FSI flap problem but think yourself lucky you got off lightly. A broken plastic arm was my problem well sorted by Tony at A2cars. Sorry to be a doom monger but your last words of 'sorted for now' might be very true.
Strongly recommend, as you you seem to like getting stuck in, when you have a chunk of time strip down the inlet manifold and clean. Not easy with some expense but well worth it to save future heart ache. Have you told us how many miles on the clock?

Apologies again for being a bit gloomy.

Andy

She has 110,000 on the clock but when I got her it was clear that it had a recent new inlet manifold.

The arm moves freely so I'm hoping that with good fuel (I only use Shell Super) that things will be ok.

But I know what you are saying so will keep an eye on it
