My very own 'HOLY GRAIL' well I think so anyway

S Line Addition

Some great work and mods going into this, love that steering wheel.

What's your future mods or are you done?

Thanks for the kind words!
I did actually yesterday add my new genuine Audi S Line gear knob, new gator and ring, I must say if I'd had a swear box handy it'd be half full by now lol, worthy addition though of which I am very pleased, had a drive last night and really feels nice.
Just leaps and bounds above the feel of the SE knob, I know the car isn't an S Line but I would've gone for a sports stick anyway! compliments the steering wheel too imo!

I always find it interesting when I see the alternative heated seat button positions that are possible.

If I had known that this option was available I might have gone for that, especially since tracking down a good climate panel with the heated seat option is very difficult.

This option (pictured) looks like it might even still be available from Audi and might be a reasonable cost if anyone is looking for somewhere to locate their converted seat heating buttons.

Hi Steve,
Yes definitely all still available from main stealers, I bought the new cubby hole around a month ago for around £40, the switches were sourced from Germany brand new at a fraction of the price from Audi over here!
Cheers Jeff

Thanks for that, all good info!!!

I bought my switches on eBay from an A4.

Am I right in thinking this is only possible with single din?

If you have double din you need a new climate to retro fit with the buttons.

Yes that's correct I'm afraid!
Those climate panels with seat heating switches in are getting harder to find now too!

You can fit a single DIN climate panel with heated seat buttons, into a double DIN dash, but you have to file down the bottom corners (I did this on the project)

You can even fit the double DIN climate panel on a single DIN dash, but you do get a small gap at the bottom corners (I have been told)

So this might help if anyone is looking for the climate panel with seat heater switches.

How much needs to be trimmed off, and are the filed edges visible once fitted? I've got a hard touch single DIN climate panel there which I might use in my car if it can be fitted well.

Hi.

It is not a lot to take off and if you take your time and do it accurately it is completely undetectable from a double DIN Climate panel fit. It really should only take 15 minutes to file it down, obviously stopping to check a few times to prevent too much being taken off

Bit of spit and polish so to speak last night, all raring to go to AITP, really looking forward to this one as it'll be a first for me!

Smashing steering wheel!

.... I have added a new sports steering wheel, with some bespoke detailing, this I managed to get from another member, I really love the feel of the sports wheel and as its complimented with platinum stitching it sets itself off really well imo,

....

I love the classy look of that bespoke steering wheel - wonder if you could point me in the direction, please, of where you think I might be able to obtain something similar.

Thanks a lot!

Hi there,
Thank you for the kind words, I'm told unfortunately the guy who did this wheel has now retired unfortunately, it is a great piece of craftsmanship and I'm certain there are good trimmers out there that could do something similar, sorry I can't be more helpful! I will be at AITP if you would like a further look.
Cheers Jeff
