MZM Gearbox?

Howdy folks

Anyone fitted a MZM gearbox from the 1.6 tdi?
Wonder how this compares against the JDD and the 1.2tdi boxes MZN, MZK, MAL and MNY

MZM's seem to be Plentiful and available locally, but I don't want one if they are as tall as the JDD as I find the 1.2tdi boxes that bit more versatile for how I drive.

for once it appears the in / out shaft ratios haven't been concealed in a morass of sub-pages- see links below. I'll stick the values into my gearbox spreadsheet and come back.

actually, I found the values in my extended TDi spreadsheet, but have decided to upload the relevant section that I haven't previously. EWQ at extreme right is conventional AMF / BHC gearbox ratios; the Jxx/Mxx gearboxes are 10-12+ years more recent at least.
values below are input teeth / output teeth / ratio of i / o, and final drive in each box, resulting in ratios : 1 in the final table.

So in a nut shell the MZM is just about the same as the JDD

So it would appear that the MZM (and MZL) is near identical to the JDD. MZN / MZK though?

Edited to add - assuming the MZN/MZK boxes fit, they are slightly higher geared than a 90 in 4th and 5th, equating to around 150-300rpm drop in revs at motorway speeds compared to 90 & 75 respectively.

MZN MZK and indeed MAL and MNY all fit with the same ratios as reported in a very detailed thread, it was MZM that was confusing me!

Sorry I am useless at copying links, if you put "A2oc MZN" into Google should bring it straight up, and yes I find it most interesting but I don't get out much lol!

I missed that thread completely as far as I can tell - but that was the beginning of lockdown and we were worked off our feet at my then workplace. Ironically I bought a PTW a month or so later and got it fitted to my BHC.
