Been a long time lurker in the background of this forum, I'm more active in the BMW world where I build race etc. My work horse of many years is an A2 and she's a peach. Recently my stereo gave up the ghost so jumped onto ebay this evening to source another. Did not expect this response from a seller, quite shocked to see this as I buy tens of thousands of parts via ebay every year. Wonder whos upset him from here :D

What headunit are you after? I’ve got a single din here and an early double din.

Currently I have a single din tape deck. Year 2000 A2, I'll take what ever is the better of the two and works. need to hide the rattles on my 200k+ A2 :D

I bought a Mercedes CLK wing from them once, arrived bent backwards, got another one though from them after a few calls.
I am not sure its a good idea to mention to scrap yards that you belong to A2 forum, they automatically
assume you are after parts at this forums market prices, which normally are heavily discounted from Myself, @A2Steve or @Clackers compare to ebay prices.
Cheers,
Ami

A newer concert single din could be converted to work on your early mode car bit it would need a Timmus to sort it. The only plug and play option would be to fit an aftermarket unit.

I actually have a later single din unit that came out of my 2005 TDi Sport. Is it a lengthy process to get working ?

it will work (assuming you have the key code for it), but it will not turn off with the ignition key nor will the back light work.
a CANBUS adaptor is needed, a few quid on ebay and it will all work as Audi intended

and yes that seller is well known and 'to be avoided' :)

He's probably a previously blocked member hence he's so miserable and petty 😃😃
There's a report seller option, I'd use it in this case for sure, let eBay sort it out.

From past collective experience with this particular seller - you can name; but I doubt there’s much shame…

Wow. The trader who must not be named returns like an ill wind from winter past. As charming as ever I see. 'Skinflint tramps from forums '. Just tremendous. This thread worried me when I saw it as any ' name and shame ' business invariably caused bother with no positive outcome but comments are quite correct. There's no shame with this character. Please avoid.

Seems like a very strange approach to doing business. At least they have blocked you to save you the hassle of dealing with them in the future

He once advertised an a2 alarm button then sent me a mk4 golf one then argued to the end of the earth about it, complete bate and switch as the advert was correct but the item sent was not.
