Hi,
I've noticed my A2 is making a noise and I wondered if it's normal. It's a 2001 1.4 Petrol.
When sat at idle, hands off all the controls, there is a inregular but persistant chirp or squeak which sounds like it's coming from the passenger's side of the engine bay. It sounds like it could be a pump, or maybe something bubbling, every couple of seconds.
I think it might be the PAS pump, 'cause when you run the steering up agianst the locks you get a very similar, but constant, noise coming form then same area. If I had to guess I'd say it's the PAS pump flicking on and off.
Is it supposed to do that?
