New A2 Owner

JaffaTheJaipur

A2OC Donor
Last month I picked up my 51 plate 1.4 Tdi in Jaipur red from Rob at WOM automotive (chumsofmanutd). Apparently he took it to AITP last year so has been seen by a few of you guys in the flesh already. As part of the deal, I got Rob and Marcus to replace the shocks and springs all round for the Monroe standard/Spidan Sport set up to give an OEM sport ride height plus some Meyle drop links and a few other goodies such as an X car link. I've been up and down the M1/M6 for the last month caring for a family member up in Stafford. On one of these trips, I was spotted by forum member simufly and rode in convoy for a while :) Brought back memories of my VW Beetle days. I've also had the pleasure of meeting Paul (redbull a2) to pick up his slatted grill and seeing his A2 up close and personal and chatting all things A2. Had a few weeks of leave to use up so have been busy fitting a sydmenko armrest, the CH/LH module (Thanks Steve B), LED interior light upgrade, TT pedals and sorted an A2 plate with the Wolfsburg plate surrounds. All this thanks to all the helpful posts on here:) I just need to sort the number plate light screws as they are rusted and chewed up. Next on my list is a visit to Stealth to talk about a remap and an OSS service as I don't feel confident tackling that myself and want to keep it in tip top working condition. I believe its a first gen one so needs lots of TLC. This forum has been great in helping me choose an A2 in the first place and a great source of info for help and essential daily reading. I'll post some pics up in the next few days once I've given it a good polish over the weekend. Dave:cool:

HiDave,
WELCOME to A2OC, I to have seen your car at robs, had my OSS serviced by wom automotive, happy A2 motoring.

The Jaipur red colour has had a form of renaisssance in modern day cars and still looks good. Now if you were to colour the wheels orange that really would be my "tangerine dream".

I rang up about that car when it was for sale on Autotrader, but Rob had beaten me to it by snapping it up within a few hours of it going on sale!
It sounds like a great car - welcome to A2OC! Can we have some photos please?
Russ

ps It just needs a 6th gear now... :)

I think some wires are getting crossed here, and I can totally understand why.

This is not the car that Rob took to ADI in October. The Jaipur TDI that had almost every conceivable optional extra was bought by Gordon (http://www.a2oc.net/forum/member.php?13619-Gee). This one is also a very nice Jaipur TDI, but a different one.

The wheels that are fitted are indeed 15" and are originally from the mk1 A3. A car I sold three years ago also had them (This was bought by this gent).

Cheers,

Tom
