New A2 Owner

Hi,

Like many others before me I've been a member on here for a while, generally lurking and trying to absorb as much information as possible from the guys who've probably forgotten more about A2s than I'll ever know.

I was 17/18 when the A2 came out and always coveted one but had no chance of affording at that time. My usual commute to work is by train, but the tracks are being replaced from January and will be out of action for 6 months so rather than braving the rail replacement buses and adding potentially an extra hour each way to my journey I decided a second car was in order (the wife drives our main car as she works in the community for the NHS), which gave me the perfect excuse to satisfy my longing for an A2.

Having said that I've been slowly absorbing information from people on here, I went against it all and committed what is probably a cardinal sin and bought a car with a known fault, in my case it being the power steering not working. Other than that the car is in great condition, 2003 1.4 SE petrol, 117k miles and just 2 owners. The interior is in particularly good nick, looks more like it's a year old, rather than nearly 14. Exterior is 95% great too, with just one scrape that unfortunately goes across the join between the nearside front and rear doors (just an inch or two on either door though).

As I said, the power steering is the one real issue, but I'll cover that in a post in the relevant section.

I look forward to becoming an active part of the club.

Steve

Thanks for the heads up, I 'think' it's a problem with the electrics rather than the pump itself, but I'll definitely bear that in mind.
