New again

Hi guys, i just thought that i would share a good experience that i had today. I went to a company called New again and they specialise in paintwork corrections and valeting-http://www.clean-image.co.uk/ They are in chelmsford in essex and i took the car in this morning and spent the day at lakeside shopping centre whilst the car was being done. I picked it up at 5pm after it had had a full exterior valet, double buff and super guard applied and the results were stunning. Many of the light scratches had completely gone and the heavier ones were much less visible. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs scratches or dents removed or even just a plain old valet and the guys there are extremely friendly and helpful and all know there stuff and the prices are also pretty reasonable. Please contact me if you want any more info or just go on there website which is very good. I will try and upload photos to my album

Hope this is helpful
Chris

Thats well shiney. Puts mine to shame at the moment.

I need to get a fair amount of paint work done, esp the front end and bonnet.

How much was it for what you had done if you dont mind me asking

Attempt 2 on the pics (I THINK THEY ARE TOO BIG SO I WILL HAVE TO COMPRESS THEM AND TRY AGAIN LATER, SORRY!)

No i don't mind at all, it was £55 for a full valet, £20 for the double buff which took the paint back to a showroom shine and finish and then £75 for the supagard exterior coat which will keep it shiny and is guaranteed for 5 years. It may sound pricey but i can bet it has changed the value of my car dramatically. When i picked it up a year and a half ago i would have described the paintwork as shabby, i fixed some of it myself but let the pros at new again do the rest and now i would say it looks like new! i cant recommend enough.

There is nothing on the Market that will protect for 5 years, supagard is just a gimmick !

Well it has a 5 year guarantee so when it stops protecting i will take it back and get it re-done for free under the guarantee!

Chris[if any one else is considering having this so called supagard protection done , don't bother it's a scam don't waste your money, I detail cars for a living, I know about all sealants on the Market today, longest protection you can get is about 6 months !

Yeah i was thinking what on earth could last 5 years before you posted that. So they basically let you run around with your cars stardard clear cloat for 5 years thinking your sorted? or perhaps they bank on most people changing cars within that time? either way i wouldn't be taking that option, but the rest of their service looks pretty good.

Well i think it protects for a while and the shampoo they give you recoats it every time you use it, they also give you cream to reapply every now and again. I am not stupid i dont think that my car will never need polishing for 5 years and be protected from anything but i do think supagard helps as my family and i have had it on all of our cars for a considerable time and it has worked for us!

Looks great Chris and as long as you're happy - nothing else matters!

Yes it was a good job and after washing the car on sunday i can report it makes the paint much easier to maintain. Usually i have to clay and machine polish the paint to get it really shiny but on sunday all i had to do was hand apply a bit of autoglym super resin polish and it looked perfect. I have been given the supagard shampoo and sealer to keep the finish good but have only used the shampoo and apart from that it is maintenance free

Hi Chris just thought i would say this as you have spent so much money on getting it protected don't use the super resin as a top up , its a cutting polish thus removes part of what you have got on. You only need a quick detail or a spray wax as a top up

Cheers Phil

Ok , thanks for the advice Phil i have recently bought some autoglym rapid detailer which i will use instead

Cheers

Hi, I don’t wish to sound rude or anything it's just reading through this post at length I’d say your current maintenance routine for your paint work is little different from others without the said protection.

I only use original wax by Simondz and have a bottle of AG Aqua wax in the boot to use inbetween dry wax treatments, but to be honest once original wax is on I can get away with upto 3 or 4 washes using only soap and a shammy to dry, Aqua spray wax extends that further and now that I have bought Colinite I hope to go even further between dry wax applications.

Even so I haven’t had the need to use heavy cleaners or Polish at all during that time I have purchased a clay bar but as yet haven't needed it either. Perhaps your personal standards for paintwork are just far higher than mine, but once washed and dried my looks pretty good too.

I agree with Automatic. I have a normal wash routine which I do every or every other week. I wash the car using megs shampoo, 2 buckets and then spray megs last touch on before I dry it, this keeps the wax topped up, you shouldn't need to be at it that much. With the Collinite I use it should really only be done 2-3 times a year..
