New All Season Boots

After a bit of research I just had 4 x Kumho Solus 4S HA31 all season tyres fitted in 185/50R16 size. They seemed a pretty good trade off of price against performance at £73 fitted per corner - not the very best or worst but way better than the ditch finders the previous owner had fitted(!) They're 3pmsf and M+S rated so should be decent when the temperature drops and gets greasy. Having bought the car only recently, I got a slow puncture on the rear and all four tyres were cheapo no-name brands, mixed across axles. Both fronts were worn down on the outer rims suggesting the tracking needed doing so I bit the bullet and replaced all of them in preparation for the British weather (despite it being baking hot today!)

I have to say in just a few miles the ride is transformed, much less crashy, much quieter and the overall poise, handling and steering is much improved having had the tracking sorted. In comparison the old tyres felt wooden and underinflated.

No wet weather or snow test yet but signs are promising. Will keep you posted. Here's a couple of photos for reference:

Nothing wrong with kumho sally and I ran the ecsta for years on our a2s ..before swapping to nokian ?

Here's a couple of photos for reference:

These tyres are directional. Picture 2 is in the correct rotation, but I twonder if picture 1 has the tyre back-to-front (it looks like the left front tyre, unless I'm mistaken).

I think you'll need to check all four carefully, and if necessary get back to your fitter asap.

Certainly great looking tyres.

It's the front right tyre from behind - confusing pic, sorry. I think the fitters got it right. :)
