New knocking noise after oil change

Ok update after finally having the fuel filter changed today all seems to running better or close to how it should if a little loud. Garage swore blind they tightened the dog bone but I any case new noise now gone after it was in and they did admit it was there? Real test will be tomorrow on the commute. Many thanks to all.

Ok all good today if be it loud! I'll search the forums but any good suggestions to reduce engine and or noise in the cabin would be greatly appreciated.

is it a tdi ?
if so then long 5th gear drastically reduces cabin noise at motorway speeds
other than that is the under tray present ?
Exhaust all ok not blowing ?

Was the under tray refitted after the dog bone and is the under tray for a diesel with the added foam rubber noise insulation? Cheap fix on the center of the dash you will find a rotary knob, turn that clockwise and engine and other noise is replaced by louder music.:p?

just make sure the music is to your liking :)
I must admit to turning the music down or off when I had my Triumph Stag as the burble from that V8 was the BEST music in the world.
I was listening to Michael S 2004 Ferrari on full song a few days ago, oh how I long for that noise again, but I fear it is gone for good in F1

Thanks chaps, I've done louder music and as a result tinitus getting worse. The longer 5th gear is helping on motorway but it's like the engine is in the cabin! I did think maybe an exhaust issue, can't think tray would make that much of a difference. To be fair I've been spoilt recently with Volvo v60 D4 sooooo quiet in the cabin, much better build quality, but then it's is 10 years younger.
