Hi All - I have posted a couple of questions pre-purchase and post-purchase, but I have had my A2 for a week now and thought I would wash it and upload pic. Still has a few things needing doing to it but I at least know what colour it is etc!

This really is a great forum.

Let me know if any other owners nearby.

One headlight is much duller than the other - todays task (having read forum advice)
Q1 Any idea what the button in the door pillar above the petrol cap does?
Q2 Easy fix for cracked rear light?
Q3 Any idea what has been unplugged near battery?

Thanks

Welcome, nice looking car, I like that colour, what model is it?
Although not that near to you we do spend a fair amount of time in Skipton, which isn't far from you so maybe our paths will cross soon.
As for your questions there are far more knowledgeable people on here than myself to answer them and I am sure they will do so soon.
Happy motoring

Q1 That's the ultrasonic alarm disable button. This allows the windows or OSS to be left open without setting off the alarm.
Q2 Easy to replace. Second-hand rear lights can be quite cheap and available here on the forum or eBay.

Hi RZX
Azure Blue Pearlescent 1.6 FSI Sport, colour code is LZ5H. It seems to have 17" alloys - they are a bit chipped and scratched though. I am taking the car in for its 65000 mile service this week... could be interesting...

As for the extra wiring in the boot it’s definitely not standard fit. Maybe a power lead for some sort of music system that was fitted previously. Perhaps a power source for a towbar that was previously there?

I typically use wet and dry sandpaper starting around 800 running through 3-4 grades until 2500 or 3000. Then cut with Farcela G3 before applying polish (though UV protect product is advisable).

Nice looking purchase Steve. Pleased to see you took the plunge. Assume you gave OSS a miss in the end (if my keen I spots a fixed roof)?!

Thanks Darren
Going to get a diagnostic on it this week to see what parts it needs (and in what order).

Had to give OSS a miss as gutters on house needed replacing and the scaffold on one side is pricey (we live on a hill ?)
