Hi firstly thanks for adding us ... am new to the audi a2 scene having recently purchased our a2 tdi ... having been in a friends we suddenly found ourselves wanting one although never before looked at them .. am glad we did ... with the help of a good friend in more ways than one we now have our very own ... will be looking to add on a few bits such as bodykit which we will need help sourcing and getting it chipped .... all in all we are really happy with it .. great little car and look forward to many good trips with it

Welcome to A2OC. Lots of information on the site about remapping - not so much about chipping but stick the kettle on and have a read!

Votex kits are pretty rare now but not an impossible find. Good luck with the car and many miles of happy motoring!

Cheers for that ... am currently looking through the site at some of the mods available for the a2 .. well suprised at how much is out there for them.... looking forward to getting started ... are there any particular themes to go with ie .. having owned a few beetles you have cal look .. rat ... euro .. is there a certain look for the a2 or is it just a general thing .. apologies on the bug reference but was unsure how to put it ..

Hi and welcome to the forums!

The only look that seems to cut the mustard on this particular forum is the standard retrofit look, seems most here aren't really into modding as the term is normally used, but to put the A2 into as much of a cost option state as is humanly possible with retrofitting and keeping things absolutely standard and true to the original Audi spec lists!

This is because the cars are still expensive and sought after. If you modify the car it will certainly destroy the value as most prospective buyers will not value a non standard looking car.

Hi and Welcome :) This is a great resource and very friendly A2 owners.

Based on memory I would say that many owners like to bring their standard A2 up to the top spec by adding ( in no particular order):

Extras on different models or optional items on delivery:
- heated wing mirrors
- vanity lights
- fog lamps
- under seat storage box
- rear cup holders
- parcel shelf
- spacesaver spare wheel
- leather seats
- radio to CD player
- Double-DIN dash with Sat Nav
- multi-CD player (under the boot floor)
- add DIS (Driver Information System)
- leather seats
- heated seats
- sports seats
- change slatted grill to smooth grill and vv
- under body aero mods (from the A2 3L)
- Votex body kits
- larger rear spoiler (A2 3L?)

Talked about but I don't think it was actually done:
- add Open Sky System
- changing rear drum brakes to discs

Non standard mods:
- remap
- longer 5th gear
- upgraded suspension
- different size wheels / tyre profile
- Sat Nav in that square panel on the top of the dash
- white speedo / rev counter

And non standard mods for the really brave:
- convert to electric - couple of people in Europe
- 6 speed gearbox

Maybe more I can't remember.

Ops, see the list has been done before but it has many non standard mods like DRL

Although many cars on here are oem+, if you do a bit of searching there are many A2's out there that have been lowered with deep dished wheels that look really good.

Cheers for that ,.... .. ive not really seen any of these with kits on apart from a mates and obviously pictures and gather there is only really the votex kit available. ?.. dont want to put anything tacky on it .... am looking forward to some of the meets where I can hopefully get to see some of what you folks have done to yours and get a feel for whats available for these.... been reading up on some and to be honest am suprised how much you can do for such a relatively small car ... id never considered buying one til I went out in my mates and been bitten since .... bought ours last friday in bradford on my mates recommendation who came with me and gave it a check over ... love the drive of them and living in birmingham my first trip was back from bradford ... any yes I experienced the wobble having opened the window on the mway much to my mates amusement lol ..although having got it home my partners had it since and is ecstatic with it ... all in all .. happy days
