Hi Dances with pies, welcome, i was going to mention your C5 engine for good reason reading through this and then saw your last comment. As you are well aware the 2.7 twin turbo is a gem of an engine in the C5 or B5 and many say better than the V8 version as it handles better and better on fuel. The 2.7 bi turbo is way more comlicated than any A2 FSI lump could ever be. So reading your last post you'll find it a breeze.
Yes they suffer with flaps, injectors etc but nothing too insurmountable. I own one and had to do the flaps and 1 injector after buying it but it was something i expected so didn't come as a surprise. Ours in running superb now and i love driving it it's a smooth unit and very sweet right up to the rev line and produces well over 50 mpgs in Nun driving mode which i quite enjoy. I also own a couple S6 turbos of the C4 variety the forunner to your car and again a great car for it's engine and i get up to 32 mpgs on run so for me the FSI isn't worth getting hot under the collar about. Look for a good one with lots of oil changes. They don't all suffer with the rattle on start up, mine doesn't mostly. Just buy the very best oil out there for it something like Fuch Titan pro S or Millers nanadrive NT+ for a super smoooooth engine. Been using this on our other audis and nothing beats it.
Keep looking and i'm sure a suitable fsi will turn up. ?
