Hi to all just joined the community, I picked up my new to me A2 today it's a 04 1.4 petrol one pervious owner other than as a dealer demonstrator. It has 119000 miles. A fairly recent cam belt and water pump change. I'm looking forward to participating and learning from this forum. It does have the wear on the Air-conditioning panel but not too bad, also there is a bill amongst the rest for an Air-con flap motor and a re-gas with a full Service in February this year. I've done only 5 miles so far so good. Sorry in advance if I keep asking questions.

Welcome and never be afraid to ask. Its what we all do.
So your forst one? How long until you get the bug and buy another? Beware they are addictive!

thanks for the welcome.... Photos will be along in due course when the weather improves. Coming from a Mercedes 270CDI i might feel the difference in power ;) but so far so good. my first A2 I did have a A80 many years ago and numerous VAG's

Welcome John.

As others have said, there is an abundance of information and help on these pages and a great group of owners all only too willing to help and support each other.

Most things have been covered, google search plus the words 'A2OC' often yields better results than the forum's dedicated search facility; a regular and useful tip.

There is an active social scene too, members, families and cars all coming together at various points throughout the year to share the ownership experience in person. You would be more than welcome if this is your thing.

Anyhow, enjoy your new A2 and as Mark says, look forward to the photographs.

Best regards,

Darren

John, don't fight it! Maybe keep an eye on socials for next year and come to a meet. I have found this to be a really friendly and helpful forum. Exact opposite of the Q7 owners!

Oh and it's worth forking out £2 to get full access, especially to the Marketplace.

As everyone else has said - welcome! Sounds like yours has been looked after mechanically which is a good starting point with the 1.4i. Not a lot to go wrong with these if the usual wear items are kept on top of.

Thanks Darren already feeling at home... I've donated the £2 already, and I shall get to couple of social events next year hopefully Jellybean.
John

If you could make it to Kimbolton country fayre in July i'm sure you'd want to come back year after year it's that good and very popular amongst forum members. It's a great classic car event hosting most marques of car and it's not too far from London.

Mark.

Welcome to the forum. Great people here, lots of good chat and lots of fixes to the common problems. Happy driving :)

Another welcome to add to the chorus :) As has been suggested, being new to A2 ownership, you should be prepared for a very enjoyable but unexpected journey :D
I've donated the £2 already
I hope you clicked on your username in the menu and used the Account Upgrades option. If not, then thank you very much for the donation to the club, but unfortunately the Donate option on the menu doesn't unlock the Market

Just checked my username account and the account upgrades says Forum Access £2. Expires never so all should be well. I've already started finding little issues, ie no reversing lights last night and the rear interior light. But a few searches means I'm pointed in the right direction, so the A2OC is coming through already :). Also I shall be keeping my eye out for the Kimbolton Country Fare in July

If the rear light isn’t just a bulb then try this:

And welcome @thejohn

And if you have a quiet night grab a hot chocolate and some biscuits as you read this page:
