hi everyone
just got a 2005 1.4tdi 75ps a2 special edition and love it so far but has a few teething problems to sort out which i will get round to.
hopefully with help from this fantastic forum i may get to the bottom of some of them.
she has a knocking coming from the front passenger side, on inspection i found the drop link was totally knackered so i replaced that but knocking is still there, going to change wishbone on monday and hopefully will sort it.
also the boot doesnt open with the boot switch but opens with the key fob, is this a common problem on these ?
apart from that its general maintenance, service,cambelt, and a good clean up :)

cruise control is a must to retrofit, how do i find out what one i need
is it worth getting a remap done,is there much improvement ?

Hello and welcome..... no need to apologise as I had loads of questions when I bought my first A2. I cant comment on the boot switch but there are well trusted members who offer fitting services for cruise control and remaps. The remap is worth doing on a 75Bhp and once you've got the bug you will want more mods.

Welcome aboard. I don't recall the boot switch being a common issue though likely to be a straightforward fix once you remove the boot trim which feels like it's welded on. Cruise control requires the cruise stalk, loom and connection (mostly to the Ecu on your car) plus enabling via laptop. As noted, remap is well worth doing, search remap and member depronman. The remap is by far the best mod in my opinion, transforming the power delivery.
Enjoy, most of your questions will be answered with the search though failing that there's a lot of A2 experience here.

The the remap please pm me and I will sort that out for you
The knocking is likely the anti roll bar bushes
CC is easily sorted and I have an alternative if you don’t want it on the stalk end ( I hated it there)
