Hello everyone, just acquired a 2001 1.4 SE petrol on £105k. Seems like like a real straight car and great condition overall. Bought primarily to avoid upcoming ULEZ expansion (so A6 diesel has to go). Like Audis and this is a bit different, affordable and looks ideal to teach to my teenage sons to drive in. And might be a future classic apparently ?. My oil warning light has already come on though (serviced recently) and the bloody dipstick broke off! Common issue I gather but monitoring the oil situation, hope it's not a regular top up job! Anyway, really after a recommendation for a reliable mechanic in east London/Essex or south London for future servicing/issues. Cheers everyone.

General servicing can be done by any garage. The A2 shares a lot of suspension/brake parts with a similar aged Polo/Fabia. Getting familiar with one of the online parts catalogues such as 7zap will help you identify parts you need. Many parts are specific to the A2 and are getting a bit hard to come by. Some great people of here that can help with second hand parts/electrical issues/panoramic sunroofs etc. A copy of the elsawin manual will help if you like gettng your hands dirty or at least looking into a job before deciding if its something you'd like to tackle.

Personally I would caution against going to "any" garage for looking after these wonderful, but complicated little cars. B&F Autos in Hounslow really do know the cars well, and don't charge silly money. Gary is the guy to ask for.

Not connected in any way,. other than being a delighted customer. They have been a huge help with the "A2 Delinquent" which is my rescue A2.

Welcome aboard.

We also use Gary for stuff we can’t do ourselves, he is very good and worth travelling. As said, the Piccadilly Line is just a few mins walk.
