Chat New Owner

Congrats.

1st. Get the car scanned.
2nd. Report back here with your results.

There are plenty FSI owners here and with the FSI its quite a lot of hard work to get sorted without the correct resources. Luckily you will find lots of good information here.

It's usually the same problems that repeat themselves with the FSI.

Welcome and enjoy the journey as the fsi is a pleasure when it's all working.

Craig

Edit: can be a lot of work but not always :)

1st. Ensure that you have at least 2 workings keys.
2nd. Ensure that you ONLY use 97 / 98 RON fuel. Never let the FSI even see an E10 petrol pump.
3rd. As Craig said have the car scanned with a RELEVANT scanner as generic scanners are pretty useless on the A2. VCDS is the closest to the Audi garage scanning possible and affordable.

98/99 E5. Parts of the FSI engine are incompatible the 10% alcohol in 95 E5. The FSI was originally designed for 98/99.

A good idea is to put it into WOM Automotive in Stoke on Trent. Top A2 people and highly recommended by many on here.

Welcome to the joys of A2 FSI motoring, and this wonderful club.

Scan first, then we'll help you with what to do next. There are some things that you can do yourself, garages good, or not so good, are expensive. Knowledge, even if you're not into DIY, will help save expense.
Happy Christmas 🎄

Hi All and thank you for your replies, I took your advice and got the scan sorted, it was / is an emissions problem. I put an additive in and so far its been ok. I'm loving the car, and I will need to spend some money as is a 2002 and has the usual wear and tear. Just a question you may be able to help with. What should the tool content in the boot space be.
Many thanks Ian
