New supermini still flouting the rules...

Hi All

Thought you might be interested in the newspaper article below from 2004 which was cut out and kept by my father in law who loved his A2 (some of you may remember Alan & Pam from past meets).

My wife still has her own A2 – a 2005 1.4 TDI 90 Special Edition – which she has owned since new. It’s got 155k on the clock and is still going strong.

Cheers

Dan

Does anyone have price lists from the production years?
Curious to know what our 1.4 petrol SE with 5 leather seats, OSS, Bose Concert 2, false floor, load cover and rear electric windows actually cost the original purchaser.
At a guess it must have been knocking on £18k

>The on the road list price in 2004 would have been £14,200.
>Leather seats....£1195.00
>OSS....£765
>Rear electric windows...£205
>That makes a total of £16,365.

+ Bose - £450 on 2005 price list ; bench seat £198 in 2005, false floor in boot £105 quid, is the paint an optional colour (+485 quid on 2005 list)

so easily getting into the 17s.

Below is a June 2004 price list so wont have been the 2004 Special Edition run-out model.

I also have a spreadsheet using 2001 prices where I added every available option (provided they were mutually compatible).

For a petrol SE
Base
13,095
Total Number & Cost of Options
32
11,636
Total Cost of Base Model and Options
24,731

Bought in the Netherlands and imported immediately. Wonder what the Uk cost would have been

Good to hear from you Danno and to hear the names Pam n Al(an) mentioned again. Had a huge regard for Alan and always looked forward to a chat with him at socials. I miss those old days and faces a lot.
Seem to recall that Alan had an LPG conversion done on his A2 - wonder where it is these days?

Thanks Skipton. Yes, Alan had an LPG conversion done on his A2 and I think it was sold to someone on here a few years ago now. He’s still in his Q3 but I’m sure he’d much rather be in an A2!

Well, good to hear the Q3 is going strong - he came to me in it shortly after he got it, for HID lights I think it was. Please give him my regards next time you see him.
