Hi all, firstly thanks for having me on board.

Secondly, sorry I have already posted before my intro ;)

Recently bought a 1.4 TDI 90 and I am very impressed. Fuel eco, performance and the cheap running cost are excellent. I do have a few issues that wont take me long to rectify. Also looking forward to any tips and tricks to make it that bit more in performance ;)

That is not a problem, we are a very flexible and laid-back forum, no stuffy politics here, just a light way of moderating the forum to keep it at its best!


Have you checked out the "How To" section, click on the "How To" index and you will find lots of useful information, put aside a fair bit of time to get through it all, but it is easy to find things you need help or tips with.

When it comes to performance mods, one stands out and that is the remap. Prices vary but for, in the region of, £200 or so, you will get a performance upgrade that you will notice and enjoy, while not harming economy (unless you start using the extra performance too much, of course)

It won't turn it into a race car (nor should it, that is not what makes these cars great), but it makes a very noticeable difference and makes the car even more fun to drive.

This applies doubly to the 90 and you can easily get one third more power and an increase in torque.
Even on a 75 you can get up to around 105 BHP after a remap, that doesn't sound huge (30BHP) but as I say that is one third more power!!!

I am not too far away in S Manchester so if you need a VCDS scan I can oblige for a coffee/pint!
