I wanted to say hi to everyone on the forum from the Netherlands.

I own a 66kw tdi from 2005 and have driven more around 150k miles since I bought it in 2012.
It is by far the most reliable car I've driven.

Now that she is getting older and replacement parts are harder to find, I sometimes need help from other enthousiasts to keep her on the road.
I also hope I might have something to add to discussions.

Best regards,

Erik

Ohhhh... Mauritius Blue?
Best colour, (imo).
Welcome.
Where abouts are you located, in the Netherlands?
Mac.

Welcome, Erik.

Although I now live in northern England, I used to live just outside Amsterdam.
I am currently in Antwerp, and worked on an A2 this afternoon from Rotterdam.
Are you also a member of A2 Club NL? They are a friendly group.

Groetjes,

Tom

Hi Tom,

To be honest, No. It never occurred to me to become a member of the A2 club NL.

Bought the car almost 11 years ago as a replacement for a tuned t5-r as a daily driver. That one bled me dry.
Since it was a cheap car to drive compared to the t5-r, I had most of the maintenance done by the garage. I only drove it.

Only the since the Audi dealer discontinued delivery of replacement parts and my garage became sloppy and reluctant with maintenance (they think a should buy a new car since this one is so old) I started doing things myself. Most parts I order directly via Autodoc (and if not available there, get it from the junkyard).

Recently found out that my diesel filter was not replaced for 90k miles. While replacing the Diesel filter I found out why my garage had not replaced the fuel filter. They had broken the plug at the previous replacement and provisionally fixed it (they probably hoped the car would die before noticed).

The plug was not available on Autodoc and not at the junkyard, so I turned to google. Thats when the A2 club's (NL, Germany, UK) popped-up. A member of this Club has a solution, so I joined.

My plan is to keep the A2 on the road as long as that is allowed here around Amsterdam (Duivendrecht). As from 2025 the A2 is no longer allowed in the city. So, the plan is to buy an electric one and keep the A2 for outside the city. But as this point it is unclear how long that plan will work, since more and more roads to get out of the city will be closed for old diesel cars. And then when you are outside of the city, you are not allowed in the city of destination.

Best,

Erik
