New to the A2 - 75 TDI Content

Hello all,

A very quick introduction as I will no doubt have some questions and requests for support coming up ๐Ÿ˜‚

I've always been a fan of the A2 and consider it one of those rare cars which will never be built again, partly due to the design decisions and partly due to the commercials around modern vehicle manufacture. Three years ago I decided on a spec that if it popped up I would buy it accordingly. Earlier this week that happened and I'm now a very happy owner of a late 2003 TDI 75 Sport with Votex kit:

It has a reasonable service history and has covered all the miles but does appear to have been fairly well looked after, has some common jobs done recently and has clearly had a few tweeks during its life:

There's a bit of a job list already:
- Shift tower needs replacing/rebuilding as the upper bearing is very oval!
- Wheel refurb and a new set of tyres
- Spot of bodywork refurb
- Modern head unit
- Fix the climate control
- Front brakes are well worn

But that's nothing you'd hold against a 20 year old car right! :)

Even though I've seen many, that votex kit looks sublime! Might need to upgrade mine if I can get it to look that good ๐Ÿ˜

Welcome aboard :) Good choice, a mapped TDI75 is a joy given the right roads, without compromising its longevity.

We've had a long chat on that Vortex kit on the Dutch forum. I spotted one on Ebay (on your side of the Channel) for about a gazillion-and-a-half Shillings and posted it in a reply. People were actually chatting about copying it, how hard could it be etc. Good luck, I told them. Hourly rate worth a penny, I asked them. The ยฃ700 seem cheap to me after that discussion. I've seen one a couple of years back on a car at our own Dutch @timmus, De A2 dokter (Whom I tend to casually refer to as Herr Doktor). It had, I'm afraid, an extra cut out on the back for a fake second exhaust. I shivered.
That being said: Yours looks spiffing, well done to you, Sir
