Hello everyone.
So, the story so far...
I wanted a small car for my short journey to work. I wanted something with a touch of quality so that ruled out the likes of the Peugeot 108 (sadly) and there aren’t really any other small cars I like. Fiesta, corsa, etc No!
So then I started looking bigger, focus, golf, Astra but the only ones I liked were the ST & GT’s. Totally no good for my short journey.
Now, somehow, I’m not sure how it happened but my autotrader favourites list lead me to consider if I’d now become obsessed with Audi A2’s. Turns out I had! I started acting like a child every time I seen one.
So without reading up useful information about them (FSI) I went out and bought one!
I wanted petrol and I wanted a nice one.
So, when I found they did a 1.6 FSI with heated leather and a load of other good kit like ESP and simple things such as separate low and main beam (hate single bulb arrangement) I decided it was the small car for me.
I also like the classic colt status the A2 has. I’ve owned some ‘odd’ (but genius) cars in the past so it must be in my DNA. More about them another time.
So I’ve paid a deposit and gone on holiday till the middle of August (oh the torcher).
I’ve now had chance to read up about the car I’ve just agreed to buy (cos that’s what u do on holiday right) and am now questioning what have I done.. I don’t know why I do it to myself.
I feel I still want the car and I have faith it will be ok... so long as I can get parts...
I’m going to get a diagnostics run on it and so long as the engine light comes on and goes off And there are no puddles under it, i will be an owner! Yey!
If it reaches the point where the engine can’t be repaired I’ve already decided the car would make an excellent conversation to electric (££) the second back up plan is a shed/greenhouse.
In the meantime I’d be up for some shows and club meets if I can get to them. My last club car was a 306 cabriolet.
Anyway, looking forward to replies of any description. I’m in the Shropshire North Wales area when not on holiday.
Here’s to a happy future!
