New'ish A2's intro Yvone and Wayne

I thought it would be nice to do a proper introduction to the forum as ive been on here a while and finally have some time. Having had an A2 7 years ago then selling him it was only a matter of time before I got another as you all know. Roll on 7 years. With a baby on the way and a lack of use of the 993 fairly big fuel bills for the a4 a moment of clarity........i'll check the A2 forum. Suddenly it was sell sell sell. The porker went I was very sad to see it go said id never sell it but I think the timing was good in hindsight. The A4 also went just pre lock down which was nice we also had a 2005 3 door ford fiesta which I persuaded Debs we needed a 5 door car, she had the fiesta for 8 years and it has been great but I said an A2 was the way to go. After having a good look I thought id take a risk on an ebay a2 fsi. Being aware of the issues one came up on ebay with a trader and an auction it seemed to tick all the boxes as she wanted a 5 seater. YVO4E OZ was born owned by an old chap it had 82k and was a very very good example she had also had the flaps done recently at great expense and I was told that it must be ran on high octane fuel, which made me happy with the purchase. Turns out she has a factory fit towbar and rear speakers as options a nice surprise, all ready wearing the 5 spoke alloys she is a credit to the last owner.

Next it was my turn again on ebay a 93k tdi colbolt blue came up and I won it welcome Wayne a few nice touches winter headlight washers and curtain airbags . A few issues with this one though the head gasket was on the way out and a cambelt needed but we got there in the end. I've spent too much on him really. I added leather thanks to @Clackers and after a long drive met Andy who is the one of the nicest guys you could meet. The headgasket and injectors were fitted thanks to an @Birchall recommendation on a thread a while ago - Garry in Feltham - a great guy and knows A2's. We finally got things sorted just post lockdown. I also added pepperpots, mudflaps, an aero wiper , belstein shocks springs, new brakes discs and drums, Concert 2 CD, xcarlink and some black vents. Its now looking great and is good for another 90k.

I enjoy the daily updates on the forum and am always looking at a2's forsale as am interested and would probably impulse buy (gin and ebay not a good combo)

There is a list of things still to do and @timmus has been very helpful with pricing on all the things id like - I just need to make up my mind now!

if anyone knows any of the history on either car would be fun to know.

I really want bollero's on one of the cars so much so I managed to fit some PCD112 ones with adapters but just couldn't justify running the PCD adapters as I love the motorway drives and I think it would be a risk at the back of my mind.

anyway am slowly persuading my friends to buy A2's as its the way to go @SR55 and more.

Enjoy and thanks to everyone for such a friendly helpful forum.

Love the interiors on those cars, so jealous, I really like a light interior in an A2!
Both look very nice ?

Cracking cars, cracking intro - So much to like here.

It looks like the A2 is the perfect solution to parking problems where you live too!

I know what you mean about selling toys - If you / others don't mind me posting a non-A2 car pic for a moment; this is what I've decided to sell to make room for my A2:

WOW you must really want an A2 ?

Rob,

It's more a case of suitability for my needs - I don't need a show queen, I'm about to become a father of 3 - and those old BMWs rust for fun. They are beautiful though and a lovely drive.

Far better I bank the ridiculous amount of money it‘s now worth, put most of it towards buying a house and keep back a few grand for a practical car I can use everyday.

Yeah cheers @ashley7715 for your intro and advice on the world of A2’s ... from 911-C2S conv to RS4-B8 and currently a Gwagon, I’m finding loads and loads of reasons to drive my fun new addition to the family. Wanting to replace/renew a few things so if there is a breaking car in the Gloucestershire area I’m keen to know.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
