Hi Guys,

I'm about to buy oil from eurocarparts.... after the last oil i bought from tesco last year (castrol gtx 505.00 grade) i've not put it to good use because i was too late returning it.

Anyways, is this oil ok to use on our vehicles as it seemed a good price for this brand or am i mistaken...

https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/petronas-syntium-5000-av-engine-oil-5w-30-acea-c3-diesel-3421106

At around £12 it seems a no brainer!

Is mannol oil any good? 10 ltrs for £30

Also, is it easy to take off the full oil sump tray? how many bolts and is there a diagram etc... the reason i was thinking of taking it off was to rid any broken dipsticks in there. If it's a case of opening a can of worms then i will leave it alone and do the normal oil change procedure.

let me know asap please before i make another mistake lol

thanks in advance!

thanks for diagram....looks like i will be giving this a body swerve and do it the normal way lol

what about the above price for the oil is that a good price or not?

cheers

If you are personally happy with the oil brand and it meets Audi AND your requirements then go for it.

ive just bought the oil, oil filter, and pollen filter from eurocarparts :)

if anyones interested in the 50% discount its 5ALXRW5 just copy paste :)

cheers

It is not necessary to take your undertray off. I drive onto ramps, put a bit of tin foil between the sump and undertray then drain it. The foil keeps any oil off the under tray and is retrieved when the plug goes back in.

I wouldn't put a 5/30 oil in my A2 TDi. I know some owners do but I prefer a 0/40 or 5/40, better protection when when driving hard in the summer heat. Look up ECP PD oil, I use that. https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/trip...or-pd-engines-engine-oil-5w-40-5ltr-521776081
Edit: Wait for a deal on it, never pay full price.

Summer heat isn't normally a problem we have up here in Scotland - I tend to stick to LL 5/30 edge but change at stock intervals. Costco regularly do stock pile inducing £20 for 4 litre offers
