Just checked the Lakeland Historic Car Club Events Calendar for that weekend.

There`s Countryfest at Westmorland Showground ( Crooklands M6 J36 ) 3rd and 4th June and Retro Rendezvous at Ulverston, also both Days.

Incidentally Cafe Ambio at Lakeland Motor Museum is the regular Saturday Morning 10AM meeting place for Lakeland Historic Car Club. Maybe not 3rd June though.
I have a feeling that this festival was on when the company I worked for had a training day in the Lakes and traffic was backed up onto the M6 northbound added a good 40 mins to the journey.

I know the exact spot you mean. Some time back, I used to cycle from Arnside railway station to Sixth Form in Heversham. Sometimes I would be thwarted by an exceptionally high tide.
There are Detours but no warnings. We check the Tide Times and Heights weekly in the Westmorland Gazette. Interesting to note that 50 Years after we stopped being Westmorland and joined Cumberland and parts of Lancashire ( Furness Peninsula ) to become some imaginary " Cumbria " our Council tomorrow becomes " Westmorland and Furness Council " ! Why did they not just leave us as Westmorland for the last 50 years ?

Bolton, Wigan etc now Greater Manchester not Lancashire Southport the same but Merseyside!

Bay looking lovely this morning, then bumped into some Gillingham Football supporters at the Midland Hotel Morecambe in a low mileage FSI on there way to Barrow.

Hi everyone - only a couple of weeks before we head of to explore Not Quite the Lakes.

We will need to have an idea of numbers for meals and the museum and I have set up an Microsoft Form to collect this securely and electronically. We also need to pre order our food for the meal on Saturday night. The menus are below and you can let us know your choices via the form too. If you could complete the form by next Thursday 25th May, that would be great please. If you have any queries, or problems, please do let me know.

Thank you so much - im really looking forward to this one!
Teresa

We've (hopefully) completed the form correctly 🤔
Looking forward to seeing everyone 👍💖🎊

Join us for the full weekend, or just a day. A huge thanks to Mandy ( @RZX ) for putting together what looks to be a brilliant timetable for our weekend in the North West.

Friday 2 June afternoon , a local drive to Silverdale and Arnside to get a flavour of what Morecombe Bay has to offer. Then a evening pub meal, depending on numbers, if only 6-10 people Mandy & Martin have very kindly offered to host a buffet/BBQ at theirhouse.

Saturday 3 June being the main day, morning to Lakeland Motor Museum, If we have 10 cars, we qualify for a 10% discount on entrance fees. There is a cafe here for lunch requirements. From here there would be a drive around Lake Coniston, with options for photo shoots depending on how many cars are in the convoy, as you can imagine The Lakes can get busy, although Coniston is usually less frenetic than Windermere. The evening will be a meal, at the Bistro at Pine Lakes. The menus are attached and we do need to pre order (you can let us know your menu choices via this MS Form )

Sunday 4 June We are aware some people we want to head home, but we could have a drive to either Kirby Lonsdale (Devils Bridge and Ruskin's View, nice small market town) or Grange over Sands, nice Victorian promenade overlooking Morecombe Bay, or Sunderland Point, this is tide dependent (very near Timmus) . If people want a longer drive, Ingleton for the falls and Ribblehead viaduct, this does get very busy on a Sunday, the Trough of Bowland is delightful, followed by a light lunch before people head home,

If anyone is staying Sunday night as well we can arrange a breakfast meet or another ride out somewhere, especially if anyone is going to Timmus for work

Suggested Hotels/B&B's These are all local, but there are the usual big chains in Lancaster

The County Hotel (part of the Provincial Hotel Group) www.provincialhotels.com
The Royal Railway Hotel (no car park, recently refurbished) www.royalstation.co.uk
The George Washington Pub, Warton, Carnforth. www.georgewashingtonwarton.co.uk
The Royal Bolton Le Sands. www.royalhotelboltonlesands.co.uk
Longlands Hotel, rooms as well as whole cottages. www.longlandshotel.co.uk
The Gateway B&B. www.the gatewayhestbank.co.uk

The Silverdale Hotel is nice but approximately 5 miles away, this is one of the possibilities for Friday evening meal. www.thesilverdalehotel.co.uk

If you would like to join us please RSVP above and book your hotel as they can sell out fairly quickly in this area. We will collect preferences for meals, visiting the Motor Museum etc closer to the time.
Can't wait for this 😀x

Wondering if anyone can help... We only have one fob and key for Barry...
Is anyone going to the event who can supply another fob and/or key as we're concerned if this one fails what we'd do...
Can pay cash...
Thanks.
Sheila and Ron 🤔

Sheila
As a minimum you will need to advise if you have a ‘d’ at the end of the key fob part number
The d indicates the latter remote frequency
To find out split the keyfob into the blade end and the remote end and you will be able to read the very small writing on the fob

Cheers. Paul

I’m based on Morecambe Bay, as you know, and can supply/programme an additional key for you.

Cheers,

Tom

No as we we won't be going that way during this trip but thanks for the advice. I just got back from Scotland and will adding full itinerary soon.
Are you joining us? You don't appear to be on the list.
